Weekly Chapter 3/3

The past before Yoongyo met Choi Jumi.
Two days later. It was the hotel pub where he had dinner with President Kwon.
Kwon’s delayed arrival meant he wouldn’t be at the meeting. Yoongyo checked his watch, dreading the thought of dealing with the other know-it-all old men.
He opted for a quiet glass of whiskey at the pub, a place where he wouldn’t be disturbed.
His subordinates were already there.
A woman on a stool covered her mouth, and the brown-haired woman beside her offered her water, catching his attention.
“Stupid. You should have kicked Jo Yami’s shin.”
“It doesn’t matter. He won’t be able to survive in my family anyway.”
“That didn’t mean it should end that way. But don’t you think it’s unfair?”
“Pour me another drink. It’s fine that it ended this way.”
“Crying like a fool?”
“I won’t shed another tear after today.”
“I doubt that.”
The woman buried her face in her arms.
Yoongyo again heard about love. It felt like a waste of time. Yoongyo drained his whiskey and stood up. His subordinates also stood up.
When he left the pub, they followed him.
As he waited for the elevator, a familiar figure approached him. The woman with narrowed eyes looked drunk or depressed.
His instincts allowed him to quickly read people. He guessed the woman’s attitude at a glance. But he soon erased the woman from his sight.
He was solely concerned with his own interests; that’s how he lived and how he was born. He didn’t bother with matters that weren’t worth his attention.
He entered the elevator with his subordinates while the woman remained, likely opting for the next one. Her gaze, which had been focused on the floor, slowly moved up. When their gazes met, the elevator door closed.
Yoongyo still did not know that this woman was Choi Jumi.

The moment the meeting concluded, Yoongyo got into the car.
He was physically so strong that he never used to feel tired, but now he closed his eyes to rest. He took out a cigarette to smoke.
“Are you feeling well?”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Shut your mouth.”
“Yes.”
He was used to this routine, but today felt different.
When he entered his house, Gwangmyeong and Cheolju bowed.
It was a wall that would never be torn down.
His house was a sanctuary that no one dared to enter.
He closed the door.
He sank into his private hot bathtub, running a hand through his wet hair. The place was enveloped in silence. His life was impenetrable, perfect.

Now that Yoongyo knew Choi Jumi.
Jumi was sitting in the drawing room, she fiddled with the folded clothes of Jiho’s clothes. It was already dark. The person she was waiting for had not yet arrived.
