Weekly Chapter 3/3
She couldn’t bring herself to admit she couldn’t live alone.
Jumi quickly wiped her eyes.
“Who changed you…?”
She felt deeply sad. As she walked towards the bed, the man grabbed her waist.
Jumi pulled his hand away, feeling its warmth. His body temperature was unusually high, almost feverish. Yoongyo didn’t even notice.
“Why did you come home today after staying at a hotel with another woman?”
“……”
She turned around, her heart, which had been anxious for three days thinking he was with another woman, finally burst. She couldn’t bear the thought of his warm body with someone else. Her heart burned with anxiety.
Now that they had three children, Yoongyo left her for another woman? She hated him but was terrified of being without him.
“Is there really another woman?”
Yoongyo looked at Jumi, who asked fearfully.
This past week, he knew an undercover agent was targeting him at his office. One night, he deliberately made himself vulnerable. Yoongyo expected the agent to show up soon but didn’t expect an open attempt on his life with a knife as he left the hotel after a meeting.
Heedong quickly blocked the attack.
The attacker became the victim. The floor was stained with blood. It took all night to find out who was behind it. He wiped the blood from his face with a liquor-dampened handkerchief, but the smell lingered.
He didn’t mind adding another sin to his list. But he changed his shirt because he couldn’t remove the bloodstains. He didn’t want Jumi to worry about him coming home in that shirt.
Now that they had identified the mastermind, they had to act. The heavier the opponent, the harder the fall. He didn’t call Jumi, fearing she would notice his tired voice. So he used the business trip as an excuse to focus on finishing the job for two days.
He returned home after completing his work. But Jumi was upset, thinking he had been hiding things.
Yoongyo spoke while looking at her swollen eyes.
“If there is another woman, would you let me go?”
Strangely, her teary eyes moved him. She had been
“Divorce, divorce…”
“Huh?”
She spoke in a slurred voice, barely able to breathe. Her words made no sense, she seemed about to faint as she asked for a divorce. The room seemed to close in around her, the weight of her emotions pressing down like an unbearable burden. She felt as if the ground beneath her feet was slipping away, leaving her teetering on the edge of an abyss.
“It seems like you still don’t know me.”
Jumi shook her head, unable to imagine him with another woman.
“You’re upset because I haven’t hugged you for three days, why don’t you tell me to touch you?”
He carried her to the bed with care, laying her down softly on the cool sheets. As he settled beside her, he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.
