Weekly Chapter 1/4
Their gazes met.
Jihak felt his blood heat up when he saw the fear in her eyes.
Who was the target of this anger?
Was the anger directed at her who had run away, or anger at the cause?
Why had nothing changed?
He gritted his teeth as he looked at the small hand that gripped his neck. Why did she cling to his neck after she had escaped?
Her hair had lost its vibrancy and it looked like she hadn’t changed her clothes in a long time. Her haggard face was the most surprising.
“You abandoned me to live like this.”
Her chin quivered. Her eyes grew moist.
Those tears caused Jihak to soften his grip.
He swallowed his anger. He looked at the blue veins in her neck.
“I will listen to the story patiently.”
She was about to speak, but looked down.
“Eunha!”
A woman’s high-pitched voice echoed from an unknown location. The Grand Prince turned his head in that direction. There stood Yongi. He regretted not killing her.
Eunha, having regained her senses, fought to free herself from Jihak’s embrace.
“Jihak, release me.”
“How can you ask me to let go after I found you?”
He gripped her hair.
“That won’t happen, Eunha.”
Yongi’s face turned pale as a corpse. Jihak, who laughed coldly, locked Eunha in his arms. Jihak acted as though she belonged to him. Yongi screamed,
“Jihak! Release Eunha! You can’t take my sister anywhere!”
Jihak unsheathed his sword. Yongi, who looked ready to run at any moment, stopped. Yuljae’s eyes wavered with pity.
“Warrior, please!”
The people who heard the commotion left the clinic.
“Jihak stayed composed despite Yongi’s deadly intentions.”
“You spoke up boldly. You look like you want to die. If not for Kim, Eunha would have never left Harye.”
“How can you say that? I’m sure Eunha suffered a lot there. Shameless.”
“Shameless?”
“Jihak, please! Release Eunha.”
Yongi acted like a person who had lost her fear. Maybe she really had gone mad. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have dared to raise her voice.
Jihak averted his gaze from the people who were worried.
Still Eunha was in a daze.
“There are many people worried about you.”
When he released the hand covering her mouth, her voice sounded miserable.
“Jihak…”
“You are happy without me.”
When she heard the word happiness, her gaze shifted to them. For the first time ever, Jihak experienced a profound sense of inferiority compared to others.
He felt that he had become a tyrant. He did not want her to feel happy elsewhere, he would not allow her to cry in someone else’s arms.
Her sweetness had deceived him.
He swallowed his uncontrollable anger.
This situation was ridiculous. There was no need to be overwhelmed by this emotion. Everything would end once he eliminated the source.
“Eliminate any obstacles.”
The warriors’ eyes wavered in confusion at the sudden command.
The Grand Prince was about to leave the place with Eunha.
“Jihak!”
Yongi, kneeling on the ground, had tears welling up in her eyes.
“You can’t treat Eunha like this, Jihak!”
He sighed.
“Your words are useless. Are you aware that your actions have repercussions?”
Fear filled Yongi’s unfocused eyes.
