Weekly Chapter 4/4
“Great Prince.”
He stopped his steps at Heein’s voice. But then he opened the door to the room.
Heein sat on the floor because her legs lost strength. Some people came to help her. She could not believe what she had seen.
Were his eyes swollen from crying?
Perhaps Eunha was not poisonous to him, but warmth to Jihak.
Her determination to have Jihak regain his original position dispersed like fog.
“I guess I shouldn’t have come.”
An attendant held an umbrella above Heein’s head.
Heein approached Kim, who had a face as pale as a corpse.
“I’ll end it here for now.”
Kim bowed. Heein climbed into the palanquin.
Yoon Shihoon and Sohyeon’s wedding was set for tomorrow. Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t alter destiny.
This year, spring arrived in Harye at a slower pace than usual.

Jihak sat beside Eunha, still in his wet clothes.
“We need a doctor.”
His teeth gnashed in anger.
Yuljae, gazing outside, responded with a smile,
“The doctor has just arrived.”
Jihak placed his hand over the back of Eunha’s. Her small hand was cold.
Her whole body was on fire, but her feet were ice cold.
Please, Eunha.
She began to feel bad after she confessed to him that she was pregnant.
Various emotions swirled. He felt anger, sadness, and distress.
He thought about all she had to endure alone. Then he turned away. He pulled away from her, claiming he needed time to clear his thoughts.
Eunha lost consciousness in the palanquin.
It was his fault. That’s the reason she fell ill.
He tried to pass through a nearby town, but even that was not possible.
That night he could not sleep. He acted like a madman, even begged her to live.
He put his forehead against Eunha’s.
“I’ll check.”
The doctor quickly approached Eunha with his luggage. Jihak watched the doctor while he checked her pulse. The doctor squeezed her slender wrist.
“You know?”
“What?”
The doctor gently said,
“The woman is expecting.”
He felt a tightness in his throat.
The doctor, feeling relieved with the knowledge he had, swiftly retrieved a box of needles. He mentioned that proper nutrition would lead to recovery. She should also rest.
“She’s struggling to eat.”
“It seems she might be experiencing intense morning sickness. Try having her inhale steam from boiled water. Additionally, sucking on some acidic fruit could be beneficial.”
“Is the baby safe?”
“Yes. She hasn’t lost any blood. I can’t take the baby’s pulse.”
The doctor placed acupuncture needles in the areas where the fever was reduced. He then gave Yuljae a list of medicinal herbs. Maybe the acupuncture needles were uncomfortable, because she let out a groan.
Jihak glared at him intensely.
“Is she in pain?”
“She hasn’t regained consciousness.”
“But she appears to be in pain!”
