Weekly Chapter 1/4
“My body has this foul smell. This smell cannot permeate Eunha. So keep me from visiting Eunha until I forget the opium.”
Yuljae’s expression brightened. Jihak rested against the bathtub’s edge and lowered his head. He ran his wet hand over his face.
“I don’t want to show my child an unpleasant side…”

The food at the soban was simple. Following the doctor’s orders, they only made a mush with crushed pine nuts and glutinous rice with spring vegetables for her sensitive stomach. There was also fresh dongchimi.
Eunha found the pine nut mush to be the perfect remedy for her morning sickness as she took a bite. Surprisingly, she did not feel nauseous.
Did the baby know it too? The fact that she had returned to her father.
She was glad she had regained her appetite, but Jihak made her uncomfortable.
“Are you feeling sick?”
Jihak narrowed his eyes. Eunha nodded in disagreement and took another spoonful.
“It’s not that. Where I’m sitting…”
“What’s wrong?”
“This is your place…”
He looked at the throne futon polyo. Jihak smiled in relief.
“Don’t even think about sitting on the floor.”
Eunha, who nodded, licked the mush on her lips.
She had heard that pregnant women should keep their bodies warm, so she shouldn’t sit on the cold floor.
She was eating the mush with her head down, when suddenly a large hand appeared before her eyes. He lifted her chin. Jihak smiled as he rubbed her lips together.
“If you feel uncomfortable, I’ll leave until you finish eating.”
“No! I just feel strange.”
“Strange?”
Eunha nodded in embarrassment. She glanced at the bowl of mush, now half-empty. He took the spoon she was holding, then he pushed the soban aside.
Her slender shoulders shook. He stroked the calluses on her fingers.
“I’ll give you a prize.”
“No need. I’m full.”
“Just eating something like that?”
“Honestly, I couldn’t eat well at all due to morning sickness. But the pine nut mush didn’t give me any reaction. It tastes good, too.”
Jihak kissed her forehead. Her fingers were the same as when they first met. There were even bite marks on her nails.
He rubbed his cheek against Eunha’s palm. Then he slowly kissed her wrist. Eunha, who was shocked, looked down in embarrassment. Her long eyelashes cast a shadow. The light of the setting sun made her skin appear as radiant as a newly bloomed flower.
“After a few days, your body smell has changed.”
Jihak brushed her cheek with his nose. When he buried his lips in her neck, he felt them stick to her warm skin. Perhaps it was because her fever hadn’t subsided.
She hugged his neck.
“Gari said the smell wouldn’t be strong.”
“I was so infatuated with you that I acted the way I did.”
“I don’t know why, but I felt that someday I would meet Jihak again.”
“You are cruel. Every day was hell for me.”
Jihak, who had buried his face in her neck, looked up. Then he kissed her slender chin and bit her plump lower lip.
“Eunha.”
He kissed her lips.
“I’m sorry I hurt you.”
When she untied his manggeon, his long hair fell. She stroked his broad back.
“It didn’t hurt.”
“Not even this?”
He bit her earlobe. Jihak removed her chima jeogori.
Red sunlight fell on her white shoulders.
“Is this what you want?”
