Weekly Chapter 3/4
“The Great Prince did not explain the reason he came.”
The attendant feared Jihak, who had wreaked havoc on his family. Perhaps that was why his face had turned blue. Heein felt a pressure in her solar plexus as she remembered the last time she saw her brother. She placed her hand on her chest.
“Guide him.”
“Yes.”
The attendant hurriedly ran to the door. Lee Hyungwoo must have heard the news too, as he emerged from his quarters in search of Heein.
“Has the Great Prince come?”
“Yes. I hope he’s sane today.”
“I guess there’s an explanation.”
“Could it be that the Great Prince’s condition has deteriorated…?”
She let out a long sigh.

Heein saw the palanquin near the front door.
The person who got off the horse was Jihak. After he handed the reins to the attendant, he bowed to Heein. Heein, with a puzzled expression, couldn’t tear her gaze away from the palanquin. Lee Hyungwoo was also present.
As the four bearers departed from the palanquin, Jihak personally opened the door. Eunha, taking Jihak’s hand, emerged from the palanquin. Heein pressed her trembling lips together.
They walked toward her.
“Welcome, Great Prince. Great to see you!”
Heein first greeted. Eunha was nervous.
“Greetings. My name is Eunha, Your Excellency.”
“I know. How could I not know?”
Though her response was bitter, Eunha smiled kindly. Previously, Eunha had trembled with fear, but today she appeared calm. After observing Eunha’s behavior, Heein shifted her gaze to Jihak.
Jihak looked at Eunha, who was holding his hand tightly, with an expression on his face that she had never seen before. He looked like a man in love.
His eyes were kinder than ever.
“I’m assuming there’s a reason for your visit. May I ask? Some people fear you. I haven’t yet decided whether to serve you tea or cold water.”
Jihak frowned at Heein’s blunt words.
“There is no need for you to serve drinks. I’ve come to request a favor from you.”
“Favor?”
“I need you to look after Eunha for a week.”
“Huh? Why this sudden request?”
Jihak released Eunha’s hand as she watched the two puppies playing in the yard. Lee Hyungwoo approached Eunha with a smile.
“Looks like the siblings have something to say, do you want to touch the puppies?”
“May I?”
“Of course. I’ll tell you their names.”
Eunha bowed to Heein, then followed Lee Hyungwoo. The smile disappeared from Jihak’s face because he was now alone with Heein.
“The edict arrived. We can eliminate the rebellious elements to ease the people’s concerns.”
Heein clasped her hands tightly.
“Everything will be concluded in seven days. But I hope Eunha knows nothing. She shouldn’t see me become a monster.”
“You really shouldn’t risk your life.”
“Relax. I’m not looking to die; I’m doing this to stay alive.”
He grinned, raising his eyebrows as he watched Eunha gently pet the puppies.
“She is a woman who likes to read. She enjoys walking as well. Please take good care of her. I’ll return the favor many times over. I can only trust you.”
Heein, who bit her lip, turned her head. It was unimaginable that a woman from the lower class could win over Jihak’s heart.
“I need to give her some meat to bulk up that body first.”
“I’d appreciate it.”
“Now you’re being kind. You’ve always treated me with such coldness.”
“It’s the first time.”
His fingers trembled. He clenched his fists to suppress the trembling.
“It’s the first time I’ve ever held something precious. Sister.”
