Weekly Chapter 2/4
“Didn’t I tell you not to hurt yourself?”
She shook her head.
“They are injuries to one’s pride. People perked up when they heard my voice.”
“I heard it too.”
“Did you really…?”
“Yes.”
“I don’t think so.”
Jihak laughed. Eunha sighed in relief at his reaction. Even though she had lost her place, she didn’t feel anxious because she was next to him. His body heat made her feel relieved.
The Great Prince grabbed her face. The water stirred the ashes from her body.
“In case you become my family.”
Jihak kissed her cheeks, then continued to whisper,
“If you become my wife, will you forgive me?”
Eunha pressed her lips together. The shadows cast by her long eyelashes quivered. But she didn’t look surprised, just touched his cheek with a serene expression.
“Why do you ask for forgiveness?”
“I damaged your family and destroyed your happiness. It was because of me that you walked a difficult path. Despite my harmful presence, you continue to show me kindness…”
It was beautiful. Jihak kissed her lips.
“I wish to build a family with you.”
She felt her heart crumble, like snow melting in spring. Jihak likely didn’t realize how much the word family meant to her.
Their hot tongues intertwined. They embraced each other with all their might.
Her body, half submerged in warm water, felt tired. She lowered her head as Jihak whispered in her ear. Rainwater from the branches fell on their heads.
“You can’t leave me, Eunha.”
Her tears ran down her cheeks. Eunha wrapped her arms around the back of his neck.
Suddenly she missed her family, but she couldn’t resent him, because she wanted to live with this man.
“I will not abandon you. I love you, Jihak.”

Holding Eunha in his arms, Jihak opened the door to the guesthouse.
The attendant recoiled in surprise at the affectionate expression on his face. Jihak tenderly kissed the forehead of Eunha multiple times. He whispered to her to wait for him.
Jihak placed a sachet in her hand, which he had taken from his pocket.
Eunha waited for him to open the door before he left. After gazing at her for a moment, he kissed the hand that held the sachet.
“I won’t be long.”
Eunha nodded. He appeared to be waiting for her to wake up.
As he opened the door, the scent of rain filled the air.
“Then I shall request you to become my wife.”
The door closed.
She held the sachet in her arms. She heard the sound of carriage wheels.
Eunha, who silently closed her eyes, prayed that she would survive to the end. She had no doubt that she wanted to live together with him.

The King looked at his younger brother, who calmly offered him tea. Three days ago, Seogyeong visited him covered in blood. Seogyeong informed him about the traitors in Harye and the significant harm he had endured while eliminating them.
A shrewd individual. He surely knew it beforehand.
It wasn’t easy for him to dispose of his brother, who had been injured while subduing a traitor. He could be framed for patricide. The populace must remain unaware that the royal authority was jeopardized or the identity of the leader of the rebellion.
Since Seogyeong’s arrival, the King had been waiting for Jihak constantly. He sought to ruin his shameless younger brother with the evidence his son would provide.
“There was an incident in Harye, why didn’t you come with Jihak?”
