Weekly Chapter 2/3
Six months had gone by since she escaped from Shihoon. Her unhealed wounds were filled with a deep longing, and in Yongi’s heart, a sense of resentment began to grow.
Yuljae grabbed her hand. Then her thoughts of the past disappeared.
He pointed to a cherry blossom skirt that was on a nearby stall.
“There’s nothing wrong with holding hands.”
Yongi lowered her head to avoid Shihoon’s gaze.
“Don’t you feel ashamed? I was a courtesan. You know that a courtesan is familiar with many men. People will gossip about you because of your association with me.”
“I was discriminated against because my father was a butcher.”
She looked up.
The owner handed the folded skirt to Yongi.
“Is it alright if she tries on the skirt?”
There was a warm silence. Yuljae spoke again to the stunned owner,
“It is sad that she is wearing shabby clothes. Please help the woman change her clothes.”
Then the owner pointed to the screen in the back. Yongi hid behind the screen. After she received the clothes from the owner, Shihoon passed behind Yuljae.
Shihoon did not swerve. He acted as if he didn’t know them.
But his emotions were reflected on his face.
Yongi smiled because she had felt fear. She put her hand to her flushed cheek.
After she changed her clothes, she stepped out from behind the screen.
“The skirt is pretty.”
She laughed at his words. As she approached him, the cold-looking man’s cheeks turned strangely red.
“Harye is a beautiful place. I didn’t know that before.”
“I didn’t know it either. I thought it was a place where blood spurted.”
Yongi nodded, then took Yuljae’s hand without hesitation.
Spring was over, but it still burned in her heart. Yongi wished that the tingling sensation would be carried away by the wind. She didn’t want it to turn into pain.

Eunha, who had been waiting for Yongi to arrive, descended the stairs as soon as she heard the front door open.
Yongi noticed Eunha’s prominent belly.
“You shouldn’t run so much while pregnant.”
“Don’t worry, the baby is quite strong.”
“You need to be more responsible now.”
They hugged each other. But they did not cry, but smiled.
“Why didn’t you answer my letters?”
“I didn’t want to feel sad.”
“You were rude.”
“My only concern was your happiness.”
Eunha placed her forehead on her sister’s shoulder. She comforted her because she had surely felt sad. Yongi vowed to remain by her side until the baby was born.
Her belly was large because the baby had put on a significant amount of weight.
Yongi stroked Eunha’s hair sadly.
They moved to the drawing room to discuss everything that had occurred up to that point. Yuljae joined them, and their conversation covered a wide range of topics, from the emotional struggles they had endured to the fire at Jihak’s house.
“Do you really plan to marry Jihak?”
However, before Eunha could respond, the Great Prince arrived on the scene.
