Chaotic Nights — Chapter 230. Bath

Weekly Chapter 2/3
Jihak expressed his intentions aloud,
“Shouldn’t I take a bath?”
“Huh?”
“Wait, I’ll be back shortly,” Jihak added.
Eunha’s lips parted slightly as she grasped his meaning, her cheeks flushing at his playful grin. She quickly pulled the blanket over herself.
After Jihak left for the bathroom, Eunha heard Gari’s voice outside the room,
“It’s Gari…”
She sat down on the mat.
“Did you visit the clinic?”
“Yes, Yuljae is with her. Nothing significant has happened yet,” Gari replied.
“I see. Go back and rest now,” Eunha said.
“Alright,”
Knowing Yuljae was with her sister eased the fear in Eunha’s heart.
As she lay back on the mat, the moonlight illuminated her face. She wished this moment of happiness would last forever, yet her heart felt strangely unsettled.
Eunha sighed, hoping Jihak would return soon.

“Yuljae,”
Yongi called as she opened the door, freezing when she saw him.
Dressed in black, Yuljae seemed to blend into the shadows. Only the moonlight revealed his angry expression.
“What happened?”
“Are you hurt?”
“I’m fine. I found a patient,”
Yongi stepped back, her heart racing, perhaps from the cold touch of his hand. Her eyes then shifted to the tightly shut door.
“Is the patient in there?” she asked.
“Yes. I need to show you something,” Yuljae said.
Yongi grew anxious. She re-entered the room, motioning for Yuljae to follow. His gaze fell on the sleeping patient’s face, and his trembling fists clenched.
“His Excellency, the Crown Prince,”
Yuljae knelt. It was unmistakably Seo Hwi.
“Why didn’t anyone recognize him?”
“Look at this,”
She said, pulling out a jade tablet hidden beneath her clothes.
“It really is the Crown Prince. But why is he here?” she wondered.
Just then, the Crown Prince groaned in pain.
Yongi dampened a cotton swab with water and gently wiped his face, acting without hesitation. Yuljae shook his head and grabbed her wrist.
“No one can touch the Crown Prince without permission,” he warned.
But Yongi freed her wrist and continued tending to the Prince.
“I need to lower his fever. Even aristocrats fall ill, and the treatment is the same. Please close your eyes. When His Excellency wakes, act as if you know nothing,”
Yongi said, a faint smile on her lips.
Yuljae sighed, watching Yongi fearlessly care for the Crown Prince.
Thankfully, it was Yongi who had found Seo Hwi. If someone else had discovered him, Jihak’s worst fears might have come true.
“Why did the Crown Prince come all this way?”
Yongi wondered, a sense of unease growing within her.
