Chapter 15. Fairies and Humans (11)
Feeling nervous, I decided to take a look inside the door. I was calmly ignoring it, but small noises such as suppressed shouts could be heard from all directions. My body trembled slightly, fearing that some of the echoing noises might have been his.
I stood in front of the door closest to the stairs. It had an additional ‘19237’ sign under the ’50’ sign.
This room seems quiet. Is anyone there?
I just stopped trying to get in.
What if there are other fairies?
Fairies could see each other without being aware. It flashed across my mind that another fairy might tell the bad guy who hit the child about me.
No.
I was debating whether to use movement or stealth Patares, but I decided to use the movement Patares to completely hide my appearance.
I took a deep breath.
[Move.]
…Foosh.
That moment, I was immersed in deep water.
A huge flame that never goes out in nature.
A vast spring with no end in sight in the spiritual realm.
I became the ‘origin’ of the world with two opposite appearances.
When a fairy becomes part of the origin and is immersed in it, nothing in nature, not even the fairy, is aware of the fairy.
‘Movement’ Patares. It was Patares that transformed into a soul and moved within the Origin. If desired, even inanimate objects could be brought in with information.
Inside Origin, you can see the natural world in a blurry way, as if an opaque film was covered. The solid door wobbled as if reflected in the water’s surface.
Woosh.
I rushed under the door without any hindrance.
In the room, an adult human, dressed in a gray-blue suit similar to a child, sat blankly. There was also a ‘19237’ number tag attached to the clothes.
As soon as I confirmed that it wasn’t a child, I went out the door and exhaled.
‘What is this?’
I went to another room and it was the same. There was one adult, not a child, in each room.
Since Vita is consumed throughout the movement within the origin, the movement Patares had to be used for a short time if possible. My Fatuma was too small to use Patares to my heart’s content, and there were too few vitas.
It was a short distance, so it didn’t consume a lot of Vita, but wasn’t not enough to go into each room. It didn’t seem like there would be any children.
Just go into a few more places, observe what kind of humans that are trapped, and go up to the next floor. I came out only to confirm that it wasn’t a child, so I hadn’t been able to look at them in detail.
“Take me out. Get me out. Get me out. Get me out.”
“Ahh…Ugh…”
“Aaaaaaah! Arghhh!”
“Noisy! Die! Shut up!”
“…”
Everyone seemed to be in a very bad condition as the screams continued to be heard.
Few people expressed intense emotions such as madness, murderous intent, and anger. Most of them were sunk in despair and resignation, and they just lay there staring at the door with their dying eyes wide open.
I wasn’t afraid of this place full of negative emotions, but it reminded me of that child. Although the child was insensitive, it wasn’t to that extent.
Will he become like that if he continues to grow up locked up?
“No!”
I trembled and flew up the stairs. I’ll have to go up to the next floor quickly.
But as soon as I reached the upper floor, I had no choice but to hesitate. From the beginning, there were several dirty hallways. Unlike the downstairs where there were no humans walking down the hallway, there are several humans in black clothes resembling the man who hit the child here.
I was looking forward to meeting that man, but meeting him here was somehow reluctant.
Vita seems to be insufficient to use mobile Patares for stealth. This time, I had no choice but to use the stealth Patares.
[Stealth.]
…Woosh.
‘Hiding’ Patares, which makes one or the inanimate objects it captured invisible and eliminates the sound. Since it doesn’t make one disappear, I could be discovered by beings with sensitive senses.
Still, it’s better than nothing. Stealth can be used for a long time because it consumes less Vita compared to movement.
I chose one path and went straight ahead.
Unlike downstairs, which was divided, the hallway was bumpy and curved, and sometimes it went up and down. There was a large iron fence in the middle, inside which five or six adult humans were trapped.
“Ugh.”
Occasionally, there were also doors with signs with creepy words, and I looked around wondering if there was a child, but came out after seeing a lot of disgusting objects and scenes.
“Oh, I’m stuck again.”
There were many cases where the road went well and was a dead end.
