Chapter 127. I Love You (3)

As he opened the door, a quiet stillness greeted him. The absence of shoes in the entryway signaled that Chayoung had not returned yet.
Walking into the living room, Seo Gyuha unwound the scarf from around his neck and headed to the dressing room. A sigh escaped his lips. Whether the house was meant for playing soccer or just a display of extravagance, the new home they had moved into to live together was unnecessarily vast, making even the simplest tasks feel like a trek.
It had been about two weeks since Seo Gyuha had moved in. After the meeting between their parents, preparations for the wedding and other related matters progressed with astonishing speed. This house was one such outcome.
Just as Chayoung had once teased, ‘Just bring yourself’, Seo Gyuha ended up moving in with little more than a single suitcase. The new home, provided by Chayoung’s grandmother, was part of a generous array of gifts she had given to celebrate the wedding.
After showering, Seo Gyuha headed straight for the bed. Spreading his arms wide, he collapsed onto the plush surface, enjoying the luxurious, hotel-like feel of the bedding.
He lay there briefly before adjusting his posture and turning on his phone. Predictably, it was flooded with messages from his friends.
—— Is this real? Are you really getting married? Is that why you were asking about married life earlier? OMGOMGOMG ——
—— Your ears must be burning! Come back and spill everything, PLEASE!!!! ——
—— Please!!!! ——
For a moment, he regretted handing out the wedding invitations. Of course, it wasn’t genuine regret.
When Yoon Byungchul revealed to their friends that his lifelong partner was a male omega, the reactions had been similarly chaotic. However, all of them had attended the wedding, and their gatherings continued even now.
Because of that, Seo Gyuha felt confident. Though he had only now revealed his status as an omega and announced his marriage to a male alpha, he believed these friends would accept him as he was.
‘…They’ll probably tease me mercilessly, though.’
Park Chanwoong, in particular, was a prime candidate for mischief. But that was a worry for another day.
For now, it was past nine, and there was still no sign of Chayoung. He figured Chayoung would be staying at his parents’ house tonight.
Earlier in the day, Chayoung had gone to a family gathering. His grandparents, who lived abroad, had come to Korea early for their grandson’s wedding, and it was the first time in a long while that the extended family had gathered.
When asked if he wanted to come along, Seo Gyuha had refused, horrified at the thought. Even among blood relatives, there were bound to be tensions over wealth or business, and being scrutinized by unfamiliar faces in such a setting was suffocating just to imagine.
*Growl.*
A loud noise came from his stomach. Looking down at his abdomen, he let out a deflated laugh.
“You’re as consistent as ever.”
His cravings were still in full swing. Though things had improved compared to the early days of his pregnancy, when he was hungry all the time, he now had an increased appetite for bold, flavorful foods.
Following the wisdom of ‘Don’t waste time debating; just order’, he opened a delivery app and quickly placed an order after scanning through the late-night menu options.
While waiting for the food, he lay on his side, propped on one arm, flipping through TV channels. As always, there were plenty of options but nothing worth watching.
‘Perhaps a food show?’
That seemed like a safe bet, so he reached for his phone again—only for the door to suddenly open.
“You scared me.”
It was Chayoung. Walking in briskly, he greeted him with a kiss, a cool hint of his cologne lingering in the air.
“I thought you were staying over.”
“Sleeping at home is better. Knowing you’re alone—or rather, you and the baby—it didn’t feel right.”
Sitting at the edge of the bed, he looked at Seo Gyuha.
“Did you meet your friends?”
“Yeah. And?”
“It went well.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
Living together, Seo Gyuha had discovered something surprising: Chayoung, of all people, experienced pregnancy cravings. At first, he thought nothing of it when Chayoung occasionally claimed he wasn’t hungry. That changed one night when he woke to find the bed empty and discovered him in the kitchen, quietly peeling a banana like a thief.
Even now, as he watched Chayoung turn his head away at the dining table from time to time, he wondered just how much those cravings lingered.
“Did you eat dinner?”
“Not really. Nothing appealed to me, so I just had tea.”
“Just going to sleep, then?”
“Maybe, but it feels like something’s missing. You’re not hungry?”
“I ordered food.”
“Great. Mind if I join?”
“Suit yourself.”
About 30 minutes later, the doorbell rang. Without prompting, Chayoung went to get the delivery while Seo Gyuha took a seat at the table. A moment later, Chayoung returned with a large plastic bag and sat across from him.
