Chapter 132. Long Time (6)
You want me to restate this text for you? Alright, I’ll attempt it.
Romain commented, “It’s quite strange that all the ladies are now affected by the bad rumors.”
Callian frowned unconsciously when he heard Allen’s words, thinking of Silica.
“Yesterday, Silique had a private meeting with Prince Planche. I don’t know what they talked about, but it’s the first move Silica made in five months. You should keep an eye on that side too,” Allen said.
“Yes, I think Silica will start acting again. The more rumors spread in other places, the less she has to worry about the original rumor.”
Callian answered, his lips forming a small smile.
“I’m curious about it. I wonder what will happen.”
Allen and Callian had shared so many words through their rings in the past few hours, but there were still many stories to share. Because of this, Callian went back to his room after a two-hour long walk. He looked at the gift boxes that were still filling his room.
“Should I open them now?”
Instead of just sending the gifts back, he felt it was time to start accepting them, especially since this was the third set of gifts that had been sent. So, he decided to open the boxes that Yan had approved.
But Yan, who had left for a moment, came back with unexpected news.
“I think you should open the gifts tonight or tomorrow.”
“Did something happen?”
“Yes, I got a sudden message.”
Seeing Callian’s curious look, Yan smiled sheepishly and said, “You should take a shower, change your clothes, and have dinner. His Majesty has invited three princes for a night meal.”
“Dinner, you say?”
Hearing that, Callian smiled too, feeling a little embarrassed. “I just had a meal and went for a walk.”
Even though the walk was two hours long, it was still a bit odd to have a meal, go for a walk, and then have another meal.
However, since he had no choice, Callian showered quickly and put on clean, simple clothes. He didn’t need to stand out with lavish clothes since there were two other princes in the group.
While getting his hair done, Yan, who had been nearby, said.
“Your Highness, it looked like you ran off to meet Lord Manasil as soon as you got out of the carriage, which made His Majesty quite unhappy.”
It was Callian’s fault. No matter how happy he was to see Allen, he should have said hello to Romain first. Luckily, Romain had kindly understood, but if he hadn’t, things could have gone badly as soon as they got to the royal palace.
Still, Romain’s invitation to dinner was something Callian couldn’t turn down, and he was grateful for it rather than reluctant.
After finishing all preparations, Callian went to the small dining table in Arpia Palace. When he got there, he saw there was only one carriage in front of Chermil Palace which he expected. Randell and Planche had already gotten there. Feeling that he might have been a little late, Callian greeted his two older brothers with a touch of apology.
“I’m sorry for the wait. It’s been a long time since I’ve had the opportunity to greet both of you.”
Callian had kept in touch with Randell, even before leaving Roselita. So, Randell nodded and said the usual niceties, saying that he was happy Callian had come back without any major problems. Planche, on the other hand, just said, “Welcome back.”
Callian was as surprised as he was on that day when Allen said he already knew about the axis of time. Planche’s friendly greeting was something he never imagined.
Of course, the voice that should show the sincerity wasn’t loud enough to be heard even if one’s aura was focused in the ears, it didn’t seem like a hostile gesture. So, he tried to hide his thoughts about Planche possibly taking some kind of medicine.
Planche’s mouth curled up as he saw Callian’s badly concealed shock, and Randell looked at Planche’s face briefly.
But right after that, Romain came in and dinner started, so Callian couldn’t figure out Planche’s scheme.
“Randell, have you read all of Sirteya’s treatises you were studying? I’m happy to see your knowledge growing.”
Romain kindly asked more questions to the two other princes than Callian.
“You’ve been training hard in swordsmanship, Planche, and it looks like your physical condition is better than before. I wonder if we can go hunting together sometime.”
Callian was only asked if he had learned a lot from the outside, and Callian replied softly, knowing that Romain knew better than him whether he had learned a lot or destroyed a lot.
Anyway, seeing Randell and Planche answer Romain’s questions without any difficulty, it seemed that they had attended such meetings several times during Callian’s absence. Allen’s impact on Romain had been remarkable.
While the father and sons were enjoying their time peacefully, the door to the banquet hall was carefully opened, and a courtier whispered something into Chamberlain Raul’s ear. Raul then looked very panicked and passed some message to Rumia. Romain’s face, which had a slight smile before, turned cold in a creepy way as he heard Raul. After a short pause, he nodded his head.
“Let them in,” Romain said.
Someone who could disturb the court just by being there, even without stepping into the dining hall. Someone Romain would never like.
Callian didn’t have to look to know who had come.
Callian closed his eyes for a moment and took a small breath.
He felt as if the smell of Renieri was in the sound made by the shoes.
What is she hiding that she gives off such a strong fragrance?
Callian turned his head and looked straight at her face.
Then, he smiled.
“Long time no see.”
