Chapter 13. Holy Land of the Stars (1)
‘Holy Land of the Stars.’
Krasue found the name so pretentious that he couldn’t help but chuckle whenever it crossed his mind.
It was a name that certainly fit well with the arrogant children of nobles.
Children who believed themselves to be the future of the Staron Kingdom, who would lead it to new heights.
Of course, that’s how it should be.
‘However, the reality is that the world would be destroyed in the future.’
Most seemed to be unaware of their responsibility as nobles.
The reason nobles could be respected in this world was because they faced the erosion of the world on behalf of others.
Some felt this responsibility, so they trained for it every day. Others didn’t care, and just took advantage of their position to have fun.
As Krasue traveled with Bianca in a rattling carriage to where the gathering called ‘Holy Land of the Stars’ was to be held, he became curious as to what kinds of people would attend.
Their destination was a bit far from Valheim, so it would take them about a day to get there.
Krasue then looked at Bianca, who was dozing across from him.
Bianca liked to read books, but found it difficult to do so in the carriage.
She, who was blank most of the time, began to drift off as if sleep had come before she realized it.
‘In this silence, she had nothing else to do.’
In Krasue’s case, he could strengthen his aura in the carriage for the duration of the journey.
But it was understandable that Bianca, who didn’t have to do this, would get sleepy.
The problem was that she was in a carriage. The uneven path was enough to jolt her.
Suddenly, the carriage jerked abruptly. Right at that moment Bianca’s head was down, which caused her body to be thrown forward.
Given her young age, she had a small and light body. That made her body easily lifted up.
Krasue immediately caught her in his arms and let out a sigh of relief. When he looked down, Bianca was staring at him with wide eyes.
He sat her up. Then he sat down beside her, took her head in his hands and placed it on his lap.
Bianca, who inadvertently settled into his lap like a pillow, looked at Krasue.
He had been a bit clumsy, but she noticed his kindness.
Bianca soon closed her eyes to try to sleep.
Once asleep, she began to make soft noises that were like background music.
Krasue then looked out the carriage window.
The landscape was not so familiar to him. Maybe it was because this was the first time he had been out at this point.
‘I didn’t know there was a place like this here.’
Krasue thought once the carriage arrived at the destination at the end of the day.
The place was a luxurious building built on a lake island.
This building, which could only be reached via a bridge, was the Alayon Inn, the most famous tourist destination in the area.
However, the inn had been fully booked today for the ‘Holy Land of the Stars’, a gathering of the children of the noble families of the Staron Kingdom.
Although this gathering used to be held in a different location each year, it was always extravagant.
Krasue got out of the carriage first and looked at the Alayon Inn.
“What a waste of money.”
After he was sent to Rachellene Academy as if he had been kicked out of Valheim, Krasue received no more than the money to survive.
That had made him value money properly, so he felt uncomfortable with such wastefulness.
At that moment, Bianca opened the carriage door and got out.
Still not quite awake, she rubbed her eyes and looked for Krasue first. It had already become a habit for her as soon as she woke up.
“Did you sleep well? You snore loudly.”
“I don’t snore.”
She replied with a serious expression.
“Are you sure you don’t snore?”
“Yes. I don’t snore.”
Despite being in an unfamiliar place, Bianca was still stubborn. Krasue shrugged and turned to Alioth.
“Do you have it with you?”
Alioth immediately took out the coat prepared beforehand and put it on Bianca.
“It’s cold, so adjust it well.”
Bianca listened to Krasue and buttoned her coat.
“Ah, I forgot for a moment. You’re from the north, so this cold shouldn’t be a bother for you.”
“It’s warm like that.”
The coat’s warmth made her forget the winter’s cold quickly.
“Let’s go in.”
“Good luck to both of you.”
As Krasue started to walk, Bianca followed him like a chick again.
Once inside the Alayon Inn, the luxurious lobby caught his eye as did the facade.
“Welcome. This is the Alayon Inn.”
An attendant came over and welcomed the two of them.
Krasue took the invitation out of his breast pocket and handed it to him.
“All in order. The party is in the banquet hall. It’s on the 8th floor, so please allow me to guide you.”
That was the highest and most expensive floor of the Alayon Inn. When Krasue heard that only the 8th floor would be used for the party, he clicked his tongue because he considered it a waste to have booked the entire inn. Then he followed the attendant.
A moment later, a magic elevator took Krasue and Bianca to the 8th floor.
Upon arrival there were two rows of attendants, dressed in expensive clothes. They bowed simultaneously as Krasue and Bianca passed.
“Krasue Valheim and Bianca Hardenhartz are here!”
As soon as they were announced by an attendant, the doors of the banquet hall opened.
The attention of those inside immediately turned in their direction.
“Isn’t Krasue the youngest?”
Murmurs filled the hall when Krasue walked in.
Krasue was used to this kind of murmur. At Rachellene Academy, he had experienced much worse than this.
But in the midst of these murmurs, there was a group that was separated from the rest that caught his attention.
“Valheim? This will be fun!”
“Ballack, don’t make trouble.”
It was a group of three people.
The first was a feline-like boy with tiger-like stripes etched on his arms.
The second was a fourteen-year-old girl, but she was tall and oddly reminiscent of a magpie.
The last one was the guy who was sitting in the middle. He was the most unpleasant of them.
He was quite handsome, with brown hair and eyes slightly drooping at the corners. He had been a member of the Azure Sky Order and known as the ‘Wooden Bow’, Anix Graiza.
In this gathering they were the strongest. Unlike the others, they had understood their talent.
In his past life, they had also represented the Staron Kingdom and had been known as the ‘Three Great Masters’.
