Chapter 112. I Give You The Moon (15)

Minkyung asked as she looked at the moon,
“Director, are you a little drunk?”
‘She is so cold.’
Lee-Seob dropped his head and laughed. As he laughed, his face ended up buried in Minkyung’s shoulder. He slowly moved his lips towards her neck.
“People might pass by here…”
“They’ll just think I’m drunk.”
Minkyung took his hands that had formed the frame, then placed them around her waist, and with her back almost pressed against Lee-Seob’s chest, she said,
“Thank you for getting me the moon.”
“Do you mean it?”
“Yes, it made me feel better.”
Her sweet answer filled Lee-Seob’s heart with happiness.
“Every time I look at the moon… I’ll remember this moment.”
“That’s how it should be because it’s yours. It’s the moon you sent back to the sky for all life on this planet. Be proud every time you see it.”
Minkyung let out a spontaneous laugh at his witty quip. He had intended to kiss her as soon as the opportunity arose, but now he felt that it was okay even without a kiss. She rested her head on his shoulder and looked at the moon for quite a while.

Time passed quickly. The schedule was so tight that it seemed any failure would set off a disastrous domino effect. Meanwhile, another page was torn from the calendar. There were 15 days left until Patrick Faubert’s visit to Korea. The countdown had begun for Lee-Seob’s photo shoot scheduled for early this month.
Although the photo shoot was handled as a confidential matter within the company, quite a few people found out about it for various reasons. Colleagues from the public relations department and other close coworkers often expressed their concerns to Minkyung, usually over lunch in the company cafeteria. With carefully chosen words, they repeated to her that the project was a heavy burden and a risk to her professional career.
As promised, Director Tae Joon-Seob covered the complaints from TK Electronics’ side. He also officially conveyed the proposal to GV to add at least one TK Fashion item with a design consistent with smartwatches.
Minkyung had to seize this unique opportunity for TK Fashion to take a leap forward while she kept a promise not to cause any problems for TK Electronics. It wasn’t an easy task at all. Maybe that’s why she was in work mode even more, while her life outside the office had been left aside.
As Minkyung waited for Lee-Seob in the parking lot early in the morning, she recalled a recent conversation between them.
“By the way, how did you know I met Faubert in Europe? Director Tae Joon-Seob mentioned it. He even knew about events I didn’t tell him about.”
When Lee-Seob asked that, she became a little tense at the mention of Director Tae Joon-Seob.
“After the collaboration between GV and TK Electronics was announced, I did some research on GV. Just before I was assigned as your assistant, I learned that Patrick Faubert would come to Korea and do an interview for W Fashion magazine. From there, I focused my research on him…”
Minkyung unlocked her tablet and showed him some photos from Faubert’s social media.
“I found you at Mrs. Faubert’s social parties and charity bazaars.”
“Did you see me in these photos?”
Lee-Seob pointed to a photo where he was blurred in the background, and another photo where only his hand appeared in a toast.
“Yes.”
Lee-Seob’s lips took on a seductive shape as they parted.
“For you to have identified me in these photos, you must have looked at me a lot.”
Minkyung stared at him as she wondered if that had been the case. But almost instantly, he interrupted her thoughts,
“Kang Minkyung.”
“Yes.”
“That’s how you should answer.”
“Pardon?”
Minkyung didn’t understand, so she stared at him in silence.
“Sometimes you don’t need to find the right answer, just say ‘yes’. I’d die of happiness to believe that you used to look at me a lot.”
“Ah…”
Minkyung nodded and smiled. She wanted to see him happy, but not die. At that moment, Lee-Seob pulled her to him and kissed her deeply.
Minkyung shook her head to rid herself of the inappropriate scenes that filled her mind.
