Chapter 141. Let’s Date (11)
Weekly Chapter 3/3
“If there are no surprises, you’ll be promoted to deputy director.”
He spoke dryly.
“Congratulations.”
Minkyung let out a small sigh, then took a deep breath. Her heartbeat accelerated.
“Thanks to you, Director.”
“Huh? Say it again.”
“Thank you.”
“No. I’m the one who should be thankful.”
In the middle of the textbook-like conversation, he asked,
“Make a wish. I’ll grant it.”
“A wish?”
“You accomplished something great. You deserve to make a wish.”
“Hmm…”
Minkyung looked down.
‘A wish?’
She first thought that only a genie in a lamp could grant wishes, but when she saw it from her own perspective, as an ordinary employee, she realized that he was not much different from a genie in a lamp. Dreams she had pursued for decades, such as becoming a TK executive, an apartment in Seoul, or TK’s unrivaled sponsorship of her athlete brothers, flashed through her mind. For him, those dreams were as easy to grant as a genie’s magic.
Reflecting on the gap between them made her heart ache. She counted the water rings on the wooden table until her mind calmed, then she looked up at him and said,
“I want to sleep with you.”
Lee-Seob smirked,
“Don’t joke like that.”
He then leaned forward,
“Is that your real wish?”
“Yes.”
“Alright. But your wish will be deferred.”
He shrugged,
“I had planned to sleep with you tonight anyway.”
He stood up and extended his hand. Once they linked arms, he whispered,
“I booked a hotel. So that’s my wish, not yours.”
His voice tickled her ear and warmed her lower abdomen.
When they stepped outside, the street was already dark. The unique noise of the neighborhood’s bustle floated in the air. She clung to him with an unusual excitement that was hard to control.
“What’s wrong?”
Noticing her change, he asked.
“I don’t know. Maybe I’m too happy.”
“Is it because of me? Or because of the collaboration?”
His serious words made her laugh. Looking up, she saw the night sky. She pointed at the moon.
“It’s because of the man who gave me the moon.”
“Really?”
Lee-Seob wrapped his arm around her waist to confirm. This small ‘you’re mine’ gesture was enough to make her face light up with a smile. She rested her head on his shoulder, breathing in his familiar masculine scent. One day, all these private and intimate things about this man would slowly fade away. But even if time wanted to take these memories away from her, she would inevitably think of him whenever she gazed at the moon in its most beautiful form.
As she pressed her hand to her breast as if to silence the murmur of a brook, he pulled her closer.
“By the way, Kang Minkyung, won’t you grant my wish?”
“I will. You said it was ‘sleeping together’.”
“It has to be done right.”
She watched him silently as she tried to understand what he meant. He raised his hand and pinched her nose.
“Tonight I want to sleep with the woman I’m dating.”
“How do I do that?”
“Just date me.”
He counted on his fingers,
“Holding hands, eating together, meeting after work or on weekends, walking arm in arm, and sleeping together. It’s not hard.”
Pressing his lips to her forehead, he whispered,
“Let’s date, Minkyung.”
It could be said that they had already been dating from what they had been doing so far, but she didn’t contradict him.
“Dating, huh?”
He was ready to link pinkies.
