Chapter 148. What Did We Just See? (6)
“Sort of. I’ve been frequenting the department store for wedding preparations.”
She explained, then said Minkyung,
“Ms. Kang, you know about the family wedding, right? The company’s public relations team is already aware.”
“Yes.”
She had heard from the public relations team a few days ago that Director Tae Joon-Seob’s wedding was scheduled for the end of June.
“I picked out some bags for the new member of the family and I thought of you, so I bought you one too. Please accept it.”
“You deserve that and much more.”
At Lee-Seob’s words, Minkyung could only glance between him and the handbag.
“Take it.”
Lee-Seob, who had taken the handbag out of the box, handed it to her directly. She accepted the simple, dome-shaped black bag and looked down.
Lee-Seob casually asked his mother,
“Is it the same as Wookyung’s?”
Seonae raised her eyebrows as if to say, ‘of course not’.
“No. They have entirely different styles. I picked them out separately.”
While it’s appreciated that she considered the two’s tastes and styles, it was also a statement she clearly made to draw a line between Tae Joon-Seob’s bride and Senior Manager Kang, a mere employee. Lee-Seob frowned subtly,
“Their styles are similar.”
Minkyung coughed suddenly.
She had seen Yeon Wookyung a few times. They had shared a meal once with other TK Electronics employees and participated in a company dinner another time.
Despite Tae Joon-Seob’s normally cold demeanor, which lacked any semblance of humanity, his demeanor transformed completely in her presence. He was warm, kind, and lovable, to the extent that Minkyung wondered if he was truly the same person who had caused such an uproar by confronting the chairman and disappearing. And of course, Wookyung was undeniably beautiful.
Therefore, it was understandable for her that Seonae looked incredulous when Tae Lee-Seob commented that the two women were similar.
“Thank you, ma’am. I will continue to do my best to assist the Director.”
Minkyung’s nervousness was evident in her voice, which made him can’t help but laugh a little.
‘Please behave…’
Minkyung just glanced at him, her head still down. In an attempt to restore order, Seonae responded firmly,
“Yes, thank you.”
“I’ll head out and wait.”
Minkyung felt a wave of relief as she excused herself. Given the time and the glances from the kitchen staff, breakfast would soon be served. As she hurried out, Lee-Seob called out loudly after her.
“Senior Manager Kang, are you planning to skip breakfast?”
Minkyung stopped abruptly and turned to face him, her eyes wide.
“Let’s head upstairs until breakfast is ready.”
“Pardon?”
“My grandfather has some urgent instructions. I was going to tell you to come in if you arrived a little early anyway. But first let’s go up to my room for a moment.”
Minkyung froze, while Lee-Seob chuckled.
“My room is on the second floor. The third floor is occupied by my pregnant sister and her husband, since they took over mom’s room. I don’t think you’ll get lost, right? I’ll follow you in a minute.”
‘Gosh… really, this guy.’
Minkyung couldn’t look into Seonae’s eyes.
