Chapter 150. What Did We Just See? (8)
“Got it, got it. My daughter-in-law loves her son so much… Gosh, what will she do? She said he has to get married this fall. Didn’t they decide not to go with Professor Choi’s family, who owns TK shares?”
Soojin glanced at the stairs where Lee-Seob and Minkyung had gone up, then muttered to herself.
“That doesn’t matter now.”
“You’re getting ahead of yourself. Dating is just dating. My brother-in-law is a cold person.”
Soojin shook her head.
“Joon-Seob is ruthless and inhuman, but my brother is rather reserved.”
“What do you mean?”
Seungchan blinked in confusion.
“Both tended to be extremely ambitious and managed themselves impeccably. But now?”
Soojin pointed her finger at the house’s floor.
“He’s openly showing affection to a woman in the middle of our house? And he takes her up to his room alone? Tae Lee-Seob, of all people?”
“Well, that’s how relationships are.”
Soojin strongly disagreed.
“No, it means he’s made up his mind.”
“Made up his mind about what?”
Ignoring her clueless husband, Soojin walked ahead.
“Sigh, Joon Seob has corrupted my innocent brother.”
She clicked her tongue, but she had a smile on her face.
‘Wasn’t my brother vehemently against making Senior Manager Kang his secretary? What’s going on? Tae Lee-Seob? What are you two doing in the room?’
Just thinking about it made Soojin laugh quietly.

Breakfast was an awkward affair. With glossy black bean rice, clear and clean dried pollack soup, yellow fish fillets in egg batter, dry-grilled Seoul-style bulgogi, steamed chilies with a sweet and savory sauce, and five fresh and nutty greens, it was a home-cooked meal filled with care. Despite the delicious food, Minkyung could only sip the broth to moisten her uneasy tongue.
Next to her, Lee-Seob placed a piece of fish and some bulgogi on her plate. All eyes turned to Minkyung’s plate.
“I’m fine, Director.”
She softly declined, prompting Lee-Seob to speak loudly, ensuring Seonae heard.
“Senior Manager Kang, it’s rude to nibble like that after mom took the trouble to prepare breakfast.”
“Ah…”
Minkyung met Seonae’s eyes and bowed slightly.
“It’s delicious.”
Seonae waved her hand,
“Oh dear, Director Tae Lee-Seob makes things difficult. It’s not easy eating in an unfamiliar setting first thing in the morning. I offered to serve you separately, but he insisted you join us. He was trying to be considerate. Just think of me as not here and eat comfortably. I’m worried you’ll get indigestion.”
“Don’t worry, ma’am. I’ll eat well.”
Minkyung gripped her spoon tightly and took a bite of rice. She wanted to shoot Lee-Seob a glare.
Earlier, Lee-Seob had put her in a difficult position by bringing her to his room, heading straight for the display case he had shown her the night before. He opened the lit case wide to reveal the meticulously arranged models and figurines, mostly robots, cars, and movie characters.
“I said I’d show you.”
“They’re impressive.”
Minkyung then asked,
“The chairman’s urgent instructions were a lie, right?”
“Yes, but there really is something urgent.”
He wrapped his arm around her waist, gently holding the back of her head.
“Like this?”
Realizing his intent, she tried to twist away, but he held her firm, his lips seeking hers. She barely managed to turn her head away, speaking quickly.
“My blouse… it’s…”
“What? You want me to take it off you?”
“No!”
She almost cried out.
“It wrinkles easily. If you do this now… I can’t go back downstairs.”
“Oh, really?”
Lee-Seob stepped back, lightly tracing her white blouse with his fingers, as if to verify the material. His fingers brushed tantalizingly over her round breasts, and she bit her lip to stifle a sound.
“Is it linen?”
“Yes.”
“Well, we can’t have that.”
He backed off, much to her relief. But before she could fully exhale, he grabbed her hands, pressing his lips to hers. She leaned back, trying to avoid him, but he whispered,
“I’ll leave the clothes alone. I’ll just kiss you, like a gentleman.”
His tongue was anything but gentlemanly, greedily exploring her mouth. She had to muster all her willpower to stay quiet.
