Chapter 88. What Are We? (7)

Minkyung struggled to hold the blanket with one hand as she pressed the doorbell. She knew the entrance code, but planned to throw the blanket over Lee-Seob’s head the moment he came out and leave quickly.
Once, twice. She pressed the bell and waited, but there was no response. She sighed, raised the slipping blanket and slowly counted to twenty in her head. Even so, no sound was heard from inside.
‘Maybe he left because he didn’t really have another blanket here.’
Minkyung pressed the doorbell for the third time, struggling with the blanket. Since there was once again no response after she waited for a while, she finally entered the code and opened the door. Having come this far, she decided to leave the blanket anyway. Just in case, she called out as she walked inside,
“Director.”
The living room was dark except for the light of a small lamp, and completely silent.
‘He must have returned to the main house. Then why did he send the blanket? Seriously, what a hard personality to understand.’
She exhaled and walked through the half-open middle door towards the bedroom. She wanted to simply throw the blanket in front of the door, but her conscience stopped her. She reached out and grabbed the doorknob.
‘Huh?’
Even though she didn’t apply any force, the doorknob turned smoothly. Before she could react, the door was opened wide from the inside. Lee-Seob appeared freshly showered. His hair was wet, and his body was… well…
Minkyung quickly looked away with a faint blush on her cheeks. She fixed her eyes on Lee-Seob’s face, and spoke in a calm voice,
“I brought the blanket.”
“I see.”
Lee-Seob nodded at the blanket in her arms.
“I pressed the doorbell several times, but there was no answer…”
“Hold on a second.”
Lee-Seob interrupted her and turned around. He then took off the towel from his waist, and put on the shorts he had left on the bed.
“Don’t just stand there, come closer.”
“Sorry. You didn’t answer the doorbell, so I thought you weren’t here. I came in to leave you the blanket.”
Minkyung turned her head awkwardly and entered the bedroom. Avoiding looking at Lee-Seob, she removed the laundry plastic from the blanket and laid it neatly on the bed. At that very moment, Lee-Seob sat on the bed in his loose shorts.
“Director, you haven’t turned on the heating or the humidifier…”
Minkyung’s eyes briefly went to his naked upper body, then she looked down in embarrassment. The personal trainer had been pushing him hard lately, and he was really sculpting his body.
“How is your throat?”
Minkyung asked without making eye contact, and Lee-Seob replied impishly,
“My throat hurts, and I have a fever. I didn’t do what you recommended. Instead, I took a cold shower.”
When she looked at him in disbelief, a smirk appeared on his lips,
“I’ll also drink ice water.”
“Why are you doing this? Tell me the truth.”
“To lower fever.”
“Are you that sick?”
Minkyung approached Lee-Seob, who was still sitting on the bed. The moment she reached out to touch his forehead, he simply looked into her eyes.
“I don’t feel like you have a fever.”
“The cold water cooled my body.”
This time, she placed the back of her hand on his neck. Although it was warm, she wasn’t sure if it was a fever. As she moved her hand to the other side of his neck, he suddenly grabbed her wrist. She tried to break away, but he grabbed both her hands.
“Ah!”
Startled, she lost her balance and fell on top of him. Their eyes met as their bodies were almost pressed together. Face to face, their breaths mingled.
“Director…”
